The first day of summer has just been celebrated and you are already preparing for the holidays at full speed !!!
We aren’t keen of packing suitcases, but we love beautiful and practical trinkets that we can do on your own :-D
We would like to spend a few moments before the holiday on the sewing just such trifles, and the suitcase will calmly wait a moment to be packed ...
If you take your children with you on holiday, our suggestion is a great gift bag with marine motifs today ;-D will surely meet the youngest approval because all the found treasures can be put in it :-D
Today we have a video and a brief description with tips.
Will be needed:
-jacquard fabric
-cotton thread
-scissors
-sewing pins
-sewing machine
1st step
The first step is to cut the right shape. Decide what size of the bag you need and cut out two rectangles of the same size with additional edges for stitches. Our rectangles dimensions: 24x20cm which made pack 20x16cm.
2nd step
Then cut out two strips 6cm width and one side of the pack length. Add 3cm to each side. For our pack strips were: 16cm plus 6cm equal 22cm length.
3rd step
Before stitching items, sew the edges on the overlock or the zigzag stitch on sewing machine.
Fold the pieces of pack with right sides inside and sew around three edges on a sewing machine.
4th step
Now attach tunnels: roll 3cm on shorter edges of the tunnel strip, fold in half along the longer edge and then pin with sewing pins to the edge of the pack. Sew with the straight stitch on the sewing machine.
5th step
After sewing the tunnels fold the inner edge of the pack (with attached tunnels) inside and sew with the straight stitch on the outside of the pack. This quilting to hide the edges inside.
6th step
Run the string through the tunnel and fold the string on opposite sides of the pack.
And now make a gift for your kid! He will fill the pack his treasure during his small and big holiday journeys.
