Heart-warming Valentine’s Day is coming. We can guaratee that DIY gift is always the best.
Today we invite you to create a great Heart Pillow to which you can attach chocolates or Valentine card to make romantic evening even sweeter.
You will need:
Fabric for a pillow
Fabric for a pocket
Decorative lace
Pillow fill (1,5kg)
Tailor’s scissors
Paper scissors
Tailor’s chalk or marker
Needle and Thread
Sewing pins
Sewing machine
First step:
Draw a heart template on the paper, then copy symmetrically and cut it out. Pin the heart to the fabric with sewing pins. The pocket is placed in the bottom part of the heart and has a triangle shape.
Second step:
Wrinkle the lace or cotton ribbon by hands or using sewing machine. Sew it the straight line of the pocket.Then attach the cotton ribbon with protected edges to the top of the lace. Fold the ribbon to the left side of the pocket and sew on the machine.
Third step:
Place one heart on the table. Place a pocket on its right side. Pin the edges with sewing pins and sew on the sewing machine.
Sew the decorative around the heart: tassels or sewing piping.
Forth step:
Fold two pieces of the pillow with right sides inside and sew around the edges on sewing machine. Leave about 10cm opening to reverse the pillow.
Fifth step:
Reverse the pillow to the right side. Check the decorative ribbon stitching and fill the pillow with filling. Sew the opening manually with ladden stitch.
Add the favourite chocolate to the pocket and make the most beautiful gift to your Valentine!
As you probably have noticed we have a new sewing machine. Nearly 40 years old Łucznik was found on grandma’s attic. It is a suitcase machine and that sews beautifully and is imperishable. Mechanic regenerated Lucznik and the sewing machine will accompany us in our tutorials.It fits beautifully to our table found in the basement. It’s such a wonderful piece of art :-D
